WELCOME.....
Home repairs and renovations can be a challenge for those 65 years
of age and older. Especially in situations where circumstances such as
low income, physical disability or poor health are factors that
might keep the senior from starting their much needed home safety adaptation.
At HomeSafety for 65Plus, we offers access to financial assistance to
low-income households who own and occupy substandard housing to enable
them to make repair(s), or modification, to the interior and/or exterior
of their home.
Funding source comes from the
government in the form of forgivable loans and
non-repayable contributions. These funds are provided to
qualified seniors, rental property landlords with tenants over
the age of 65 and those with a physical disability.
If your property is lacking basic facilities or require major repair in one
or more of five categories:

structural;
-
electrical;
-
plumbing;
-
heating;
-
fire
safety
-
including
minor adaptations to improve safety in and/or around the home, such
as grab bars, railings, motion sensor lighting etc...
maintain their independence
through home adaptations.
We can help
you get government funding.
Who qualifies...
Those:
-
65 years
of age or older
-
Are homeowners/condo-owners (renters and
government housing occupants not eligible)
-
Landlords of rental property (with a
tenant 65 years or age or older or a tenant with a physical
disability)
-
Whose house/condo is currently valued at, or below, $300,000
-
Who have
a (combined) household income of $35,000 or less
-
Living
permanently in their place of residence of more than 2 years
-
Who need
repairs done to the home (see the five categories in previous
section above)
